I just bought a 2006 Foton 404 with spirit loader, it only has 29 hours on it, guy bought it for brush hogging and passed away.

The woman could not find the manual for it, After doing some reading online, when i bought it, i went through the tractor from top to bottom and tightened every nut bolt and hyd. line on the tractor, and checked and topped off all fluid levels, except, there is a fill cap at injection pump, WHAT IS THIS and how do you check level and what does it use??

If there is anyone who has a manual for this tractor they are willing to part with, i would love to by it. Thank you and any other things i should do and or check please advise, this tractor is still like brand new.

Thanks Mike in Michigan

Mike,
Here is picture of injector on my 284. Drains on bottom, fill on top until starts trickling out of overflow. I use same oil as in engine.

Just got a set of four manuals for a neighbors FT404. Cost about $85 delivered, ordered from John Lea down in TX. Foton injection pump is a bit larger than that of the Jinma 200 series, but the principle is the same. Look for a mushroom looking thing at the top. That will be the fill/vent, and should (may) have a dipstick attached to the underside. I used ISO100 compressor oil in mine, but the same diesel-rated engine oil you use is acceptable. That typically would be 15W40.

The vent fill cap in the 2nd post picture is for the governor. I would add engine oil till it is full and then let it vent any extra. So yes it will ooze out the cap all the extra. It probably holds 10 oz or so so not much will vent as the tractor runs. Change that oil with every oil change

DO NOT FILL THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP LIKE THAT because it shares a common sump with the governor. You'll be running the flyweights submerged in oil. Very bad Ju-Ju. Just fill it to the mark on the dipstick or remove the tattle-tale screw on the side of the injection pump, whichever you have.

Absolutely korrect
If you over fill with oil the excess oil will be slung out the vent by the movement of those little round bearing like thingies. Course if you run it wit too wittle oil you can get an ew injector pump governor combo for about $500.
Just dont put too thicker oil in it it does slow the governor response to changing loads.
