Just bought a 801 with a backhoe and front loader. I want to plow, and use the pto for my brush hog. Is it difficult to remove the backhoe and what is the procedure if it is doable?

assuming you actually have an 800 with a 3pt hoe or sub framed backhoe, AND a working pto and 3pt hitc, and not a industrial model that has no hitch or pto, then it's a simple matter of manually removing the hoe via 3pt linkage, bolts, braces, etc. perhaps a subframe, maybee even a subframe that ties to the loader. Of course removing hyds.. and depending on how they are plumbed, they might need to be looked.

post pics of what you have.

does it have a pto pump driving the hoe?

is there a front pump driving the laoder that also feeds the hoe?

is it all running off tractor hyds via a remote under the seat ( real real slow.. but does work.. )

post them pics.

front, side rear, and rear up close of the union of the hoe to the tractor rear end.

also, welcome to TBN!

Thanks for the reply to my question regarding the 801. It has a front pump that runs the loader and backhoe. The pto works and I have not figured out the three point and what runs it. However, I have the three point hitch parts and I am ready to install them. I will try to get the pictures you requested. I would say that the hoe and loader are attached via a subframe. It is very sturdy looking.

depending on the sub frame type.. you may have to loose the hoae and laoder as a pair, or be ok with the subframe 'living' under the tractor.

figure out the plumbing.. if the hoe is run off the front pump as the loader is, you may have to plug the lines together, unless it is off a seperate remote/detent valve... which then you could re-task as a remote. many of the ones I see you will need to loop the lines.

having the pto is good.. as for the 3pt. does it actually have the top cover with upper lift arms? ir is it a blank cover.. if a blank cover, that tractor may not even have a engine mounted hyd pump, and thus no way to drive the 3pt, meaning you'd need an entire top cover, pump, and plumbing manifold.

post pics. sounding like an industrial model, instead of an ag model some hung a loader and hoe on.

The hoe and loader are attached separately to the subframe. The hoe works when you push down on a nob to direct the hydraulics to the controls for the back hoe. There are levers for the three point attachment, but no controls for moving them up and down which is strange. How would you get power to them to work?

see tht's my point.. you may not even have a standard lift cover.. you may have the delete plate.. I've seen plenty of hoe setups like that. meaning you would need a complete lift cover from a salvage machine.. probably the relief valve plat under the tractor.. a hyd pump and the hyd manifold...

need to see pictures...

Checked the tractor this morning and it does have a small lever for the three point hitch with an indicator stampted on the side of the case for positioning. I have not tried it to see if it works, but at least the pieces are there. Thanks for all of your help.

post a pic.. there really should be 2 levers.. not 1.

Guess I will have to get the picture posted. I thought that I had the solution and you are right, there is only one lever that moves up and down. I tried it this afternoon with the tractor running and it did not move the arms. I am at work, so I have to send the picture later.
