Ok I’ve had a car with a blown head gasket before but this is use has me scratching my head some.

A while ago I had issue with what I thought was blow by but now I’m thinking maybe that issue may be related to this new one. I am losing coolant first of all. I have filled it and checked after a few runs and need to add more. So it’s going somewhere. When I get the tractor to temp and use it for a while I can smell the antifreeze burning. However it’s not from the exhaust but from the crank case vent down tube. I would expect a blown or leaking head gasket to burn through the exhaust. What makes it weirder is that there isn’t any water or coolant in the oil. Nothing on dipstick and no coolant smell in the oil at all. So I’m perplexed. I planned to do a rebuild this winter when I have time. I do have another tractor so it can sit until then but want to make sure that isn稚 not a cracked blocked. Which it isn’t cause no water in oil. A hairline crack in head? Expands when it gets hot?

Just to cover all the bases here,
how full are you filling the radiator?
If you fill it more than about an inch above the fins it will just puke it out of the overflow tube.

If your finger can touch it , its full !
Check for waterplugs in the top under the tappetcover ?
