I have a 1710 that is running rough and I suspect it is a timing problem. I have not been able to identify the number one cylinder. Can anyone help, front or back? Thanks

If you can't find the #1 cylinder, how do you expect to check or improve the timing without a service manual? If you do have a service manual, I'm pretty certain it will tell you all you need to know about fuel injection timing and valve timing. For what it's worth, #1 is closest to the radiator and furthest from the clutch.

Thanks Rick - I've read the service manual I have cover to cover and it doesn't define No. 1 cylinder which is what led me to post the question. If I were a true idiot I would have moved forward with a guess as to which was No.1
