Finally a fix for the warning light on the Lxx60s with a high output alternator

When I got the machine over a year ago, the dealer noted the warning light on the dash would light up & stay on unless you immediately started the machine from the off position. If you ever turned the key on & left it there for more than a second or 2, the warning light would kick on & stay on until the key was turned off. Apparently a bug relating to the high amp alternator upgrade. Slightly annoying, but never problematic, so I ignored it.

I finally got my L4060 into the dealer for some warranty hydraulic work. And when they dropped the machine back off, they mentioned there is a fix now & it was applied (updated firmware on the computer I assume). Light doesn't seem to come on anymore.

I wasn't aware there was a high output alternator option available for the LXX60 series. I wonder if it's available on a ROPS model or just cab tractors? Had I known, I would have ordered it on my L6060 HST ROPS. I've run the battery down a couple of times already powering a 12V to 120V inverter.

Next time I'm out there, I'll ask if it's a dealer installed option and, if so, the price. Thanks for the info Fallon.

I'd assume it's an option for open stations as well. It's required if you get the rear defroster, probably a few other things.

I may have gotten it even if I didn't need it for the defroster. I wired in an auxiliary fuse box in the cab I could probably jumpstart with. Lots of extra lights already. Http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376458
