I have a MF 1429 with a m246 FEL. I removed the loader last week to do some work on the hood, and had a hard time getting my fingers into the tight spot where the hydraulic "quick" couplers are.
They are inside the channel shaped control valve stand, and it's so tight that you can only get two fingers on the spring loaded sleeve to release it.

Has anyone else had this problem, and found a way to relocate the quick couplers?

Put some short extensions on that will be easier to get at.
A good pic of the problem may help with a better suggestion.
Maybe extend the tubing, or just adding short hyd. hoses would do the job.

No sense having "quick" couplers that are not "quick". :)

I guess the real question is, if I extend it with some pieces of pipe or hose, how do I bleed the air out. I've never really worked on hydraulics at all.

You don't have to bleed the air out. It will come out all on its own. :)

Some short hoses to with the QC's on each end to add for length might be the cheapest/easiest for you to do.

But gather some more knowledge about hydraulics before jumping in. ;)
