I would think you should be able to lower the bucket all the way to the ground with it level. What are the specs on the loader? My Woods says it the digging depth is 4" so it will go 4" down below grade with the bucket level.

Ok...the 16LA has a digging depth of 6.5".

I'd be talking to the dealer.

I think that if yiu drop into a lower gear and keep the rpm's up around the PTO setting it will work better ... That's what I do and it seems to work OK.

I don't run filled tires, but it would seem to me that if the pressure is 0, the back of the tractor would sit too
low, which would raise the FEL and possibly not allow it to reach the ground in a lowered state, Which forces
you to point the bucket down to reach dirt. I would suggest removing some of the fill and airing up to
the pressure listed on the back tires.

Thanks for the reply. I think you're on the right track.

Just got back from the barn, and already added air to the rears. It seemed to help. I still have a way to go with the water,, it's painfully slow. I'm encouraged. My speed bumps are now a bit farther apart. I'll do some more de-watering and airing up this afternoon.

Also tried running in lower gear and higher RPM today. Bucket will still not break out by lifting. Only way is to curl, which ruins my setting, or to clutch.

One other thing I'd suggest is to have your dealer check your hydraulic pressure. If the relief valve is set too low, it might take away the power you need to lift the arms. I realize this is a long shot, but if it were obvious we would have solved this problem a long time ago.

I will get it checked tomorrow.

Just a hunch, but I suspect it could be the big hydraulic pump and small engine combination. I may be wrong, of course. What leads me to suspect this is the engine bogs a little when turning and a lot when using the loader. I think that big pump puts a big hit on the meager 35 HP this engine produces. What I wouldn't give for 5 more HP just to see if that solves it.

Sounds like the loader is a miss match for your tractor. You should be able to lay the bucket flat and take the weight off the front tires.

I'm kinda thinking something is wrong as well. With a 6.5" digging depth shouldn't you be able to lift the front tires that far off the ground?

My 1016 has a 4" digging depth and thats just how far the tires some off the ground if not abit more with R4's.

HOw would you get the fluid out of the tire?
