Extra clearance for 140

We have an old 140 that we use to cultivate vegetables. We recently switched to mostly plastic beds and are now lacking a few inches of clearance (about 4" more would be great). Is there a way to gain this clearance? Larger tires? High crop kit? Or should we move to a more modern tractor with a high crop kit already in place?

In that frame size you're going to have a hard time finding something that has more ground clearance then I 140 with a high crop kit. Your best bet would probably be to find someone who has one that they are parting out and buy the high crops specific components from them, or buy another similar size machine with a high crop kit on it.
if you go with bigger tires that will also give you more clearance, but larger rear tires will also give you more ground speed so unless you have a creeper gear that is currently to slow you'll be going too fast.

Thanks for the reply. Thats pretty much what I figured.
Might be time to change tractors. I started to look into some Farmall AV tractors for an older replacement. Seems like the true high crop/clearance tractors are just as hard to find. Especially in Massachusetts.

How much clearance do you have now?
