Excavator mounted flail cutter?????

Nice video, thanks for sharing. It looks very effective (in time lapse, LOL). Fortunately, my KX-121 mini does not have a cab so I will NOT be tempted to spend all that money :(

Ken

Yes in real time it's much slower of course and makes a boring video. On flat ground there are far more productive setups but the excavator flail can get spots where other setups can't reach. Cab is a must, it's saved me from flying debris and angry yellow jackets. That kx 121 looks like a nice machine. Do you have the six way blade? Any issues with your machine so far?

Trailmaker-

What kind of camera did you use for the time lapse?

It's a little Cannon powershot, nothing fancy. I had the camera for a couple of years before I even realized it had a time lapse function. It's fun to mess around with for sunsets and equipment videos.

I have the 4 way blade. Love it, very good machine. The 4 way blade is great!

The only problem I've had is when I was working in the woods and swung the boom around and hit a tree at just the wrong point and broke a hydraulic coupling :( I just use it around the farm here.

One of these days, I'm going to have to sit down and read the manual. :confused2: I have a Powershot too and I'm amazed at the picture quality. It actually does better than my Nikon digital SLR that's a couple of years old. It takes decent movies too. We had thought about a movie camera for our travels but I've found that the Canon does a good job without having to lug around a second camera.

They take a lot of power. I've installed a few of these BMS-L - SEPPI M. . I know, it's a lot bigger unit but the same principal. They'll cut and mulch like you wouldn't believe but the power they require is unreal. Look at the specs on this one, 250 bar (3600psi) at 46-135 lpm (12-36gpm).
I really can't see that unit being any good for other than grass. We use a somewhat similar setup for mowing the grass in the median, a 5 gang mower towed with a tractor. Just my 2 cents worth.....Mike
