I have used electric fences successfully - usually over short distances - about a half mile max total for two wires - up and back. I decided to buy another controller and started reading reviews. Now I see perhaps I did not know as much as I thought. Anyway, I see there are continuous and pulse, joule rated and volt rated, and more.
I assume, based on what I have figured out that I want a pulse unit, and will go with a 2 mile rated unit for my uses ( I think I have figured out joules and volts), low impedance vs high, and so will go into TSC later this week to see what they have.
My questions - I assume I want a "pulse" unit and not continuous, and low impedance. Any brands not recommended, and finally, one site said that I can put the posts up to 50 feet apart with the right wire - wow, I have been putting posts about 10 feet apart and creating a lot of work for myself.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. BTW - this is for cattle.
