Yeah.

I just drilled the collars I’m going to use to hold bottom pins from moving around.

Now I’m going to drill a little bigger diameter to make the bolt go through easy, I don’t want to drive it in with a hammer.

Done.

All that’s left is the bottom pins now. Too much trouble to bring up a welder, so I’m bolting them on. I’m going to use the collar extension as a drill jig. The bushing in the collar is just temporary, to line it all up. I already flipped the pin around to give more room to get in there.

Hi Ed! I’m another Ed with the same machine. I stumbled on all your posts 2 years ago when I got my machine. You’ve made a lot more progress than I have! I have to make new hydraulic hoses next but I think the metal piping on the loader arms has been bent at some point. The hoses/pipes don’t look symmetrical which seems odd. Any chance you have any close up pictures of the hydraulic hoses/ pipes? Also do you know what diameter the hoses are?

Couldn’t pin the grapple because the loader arm bushings are too small, but was able to actuate the cylinders. I’ve got new bushings coming, and will open them up. That’s the last thing.

I’ve been up there for 3-1/2 weeks, I don’t do much internet when I’m there. I’ll try and remember to get the pics when I go back.

Where are you located?

Installing the seal stretched it out like last time, so I’ve got it compressed in to hold it there. Doing this overnight worked on the other cylinder, then it went together. The only thing I’m waiting on now is the bushing that goes inside the gland, I’m having a v machined into one end. Both old ones were already that way, the only available new one isn’t. The reason it’s needed is to get the right thickness to keep the bushing and seals from moving inside the gland, that would cause them to wear too fast. Once it’s back together I’ll go up and put the cylinder back on the loader, weather permitting.

It‘s obvious why it was leaking. It’s leaking on the inside of the seals, the other cylinder was leaking on the outside of the seals. The metal surface was too pitted and I had to replace it, this one looks the same.
