Does anyone know if there is a Canadian business selling Pat's Easy Change hitch system? I can order it online directly, but shipping is US$100 so it works out to CDN$375 for the Class 1 plus one extra set of washers. Amazon.ca pricing is about the same. That is a bit steep.

Princess Auto sells a knockoff "Field Tuff" Fast Change Hitch System | Princess Auto for CDN$225. Their stock has doubled so I am expecting a sale price soon. In addition to stealing Pat's idea which is distasteful, they are only three sided - they do not fully encase the 3pt ball and end. I am not sure I would trust them to hold my 1300 lb counterweight. Anyone tried these?

Depending on where you are in NB, isn't there a UPS or other US business in Calais, Presque Isle, or Houlton where you can have packages shipped, for your pickup?
I think this is done along the Wash., Minnesota, and Michigan borders.

The two Princess Auto reviews do not look good!
I have the Pat's Easy Change system and I do like it.

Wish I could help you out. Sold my Nova Scotia Summer home last year though.
Used the St. John ferry twice each year, so brought some things over for my friends.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I could have it shipped to Houlton Maine and then pick it up and pay the border fees. Considering the drive, gas, US shipping fee, and border fee, it is not a whole lot cheaper than paying for shipping to my address.

The exchange rate tanked this week so it is really out of the question at the moment.

I wish they would set up a Canadian distributor. That way they are shipped by a pallet load and then sold in Canadian dollars. Part of the wish would be that they set a good exchange rate. Dreaming, I know.

I'll continue to manhandle my 1300lb ballast into position.

Have you looked at the other options such as the ones dealers sell? I know Pat's system is more flexible on the width of an implement.

Please....don't remind me about the horrible exchange rate!
I watch it daily!
I have a big chunk of money from the sale of a house, just sitting in the Scotia Bank.
For a planned CAD-USD swap, I am down BIG since December, and still falling.
:smiley_aafz:
Could Pierre and Margaret's little boy Justin, please bring about an exchange rate improvement?
