I'm putting this here since most of the posts about Case-NH seem to land here and I thought I might get more opinions.
I'm still having fun shopping for an upgrade for my old issue B7100 gear.
After reading much here, I've pretty much decided to stick with my trusty dealer, who sells Case, Kubota, and Cub Cadet. I went and sat on a DX26 a couple of weeks ago, then a B2630 on the same lot. The Case seems to fit my body better, but I really liked the impact the tilt wheel on the 2630 had on driving position.
Yesterday, I went to again sit on a DX26 at my dealer. They had priced one with loader, R4s, and HST at about $16K over the phone. Their other branch came in about the same for a B2630 similarly equipped. I have also done business with the local Ford-NH dealer when I had an 8N a while back, and am undecided between Case and NH if it comes down to that. As has been said, the Case does seem to look more, umm, conventional.
Then I tried on a DX33 for size. The standard suspension/swivel seat will do wonders for me, as will the standard tilt wheel. I started comparing features from catalogs and noted that Kubota has 3 ranges for their HST, whereas Case does not mention it at all. I think I saw 2 ranges on the controls, but am not sure. There has been much praise here for the bulletproof nature of the Kubota HST.
How does the Case-NH HST stack up against the Kubota box? Keeping in mind that I can get about 25% off the Case-NH retail price, can you guys think of any real reason to seriously consider a Kubota instead?
