I'm putting this here since most of the posts about Case-NH seem to land here and I thought I might get more opinions.

I'm still having fun shopping for an upgrade for my old issue B7100 gear.

After reading much here, I've pretty much decided to stick with my trusty dealer, who sells Case, Kubota, and Cub Cadet. I went and sat on a DX26 a couple of weeks ago, then a B2630 on the same lot. The Case seems to fit my body better, but I really liked the impact the tilt wheel on the 2630 had on driving position.

Yesterday, I went to again sit on a DX26 at my dealer. They had priced one with loader, R4s, and HST at about $16K over the phone. Their other branch came in about the same for a B2630 similarly equipped. I have also done business with the local Ford-NH dealer when I had an 8N a while back, and am undecided between Case and NH if it comes down to that. As has been said, the Case does seem to look more, umm, conventional.

Then I tried on a DX33 for size. The standard suspension/swivel seat will do wonders for me, as will the standard tilt wheel. I started comparing features from catalogs and noted that Kubota has 3 ranges for their HST, whereas Case does not mention it at all. I think I saw 2 ranges on the controls, but am not sure. There has been much praise here for the bulletproof nature of the Kubota HST.

How does the Case-NH HST stack up against the Kubota box? Keeping in mind that I can get about 25% off the Case-NH retail price, can you guys think of any real reason to seriously consider a Kubota instead?

The Case and the New Holland in the 25/29and 33 range should have 3 ranges. My TC29D does have the three ranges.

I have a DX35. It has a high and low range operated by a lever on the left fender and an additional button on the right fender so you can have a high and low within each of those ranges. I don't know if that is a true 4 range transmission but you can change the high and low button while moving within each range. I don't know if the DX33 has the same set up. The ergonomics of this tractor are great.

How close are the Case and the NH in features ect? I thought they were both pretty much the same machine save for colour.

Plus only NH has Supersteer.

The DX 33 hydro has three ranges. If you are going hydro - recommend the 33 over the 29 - extra power for only a little more $$.

I agonized over the TC33DA vs. B3030 for several days. What sold me on the TC33DA was that it had the skid steer QA (that and 0% for 60 - which made it essentially the same price as the Kubota). Neil had told me that the QA on the B3030 was non-standard (which means everything - including forks - will cost more).

BTW - once you have QA - you will never know how anyone could live without it. Switching from bucket to forks is a piece of cake. I also have the Dirtworks QA hitch receiver (Qualtity Welding makes a great product) - check it out - makes life easy.

What do you mean by "skid steer QA"? When I was looking at 3 brands including Cadet at one store, both Kubota and Case had individual rear or "steering" brakes. Cadet had only 1 brake pedal, which I found odd. I presume the QA is for Quick Attach, but Quick Attach what? The DX33 has extendable links, or do you mean on the FEL?

BTW, over the phone when I was getting a price on a DX26 with HST, R4s, and FEL the salesman seemed to think he could put me on a D40 with loader for pretty close to the same price. They have a WD-45 A.C. parked next to one of those and the D40 is about the same size but looks way heavier. And I used to think my FIL's old WD-45 was pretty good sized compared to my 8N! I just have no way to use a machine that big in the woods I have.

I meant Quick Attach on the FEL. It lets you use the FEL arms to pick up the bucket, forks, or etc while sitting on the tractor. Once you pick them up, all you need to do is move two levers on the QA to lock them in place.

To drop the bucket, forks, etc. you only need to undo the levers, drop the FEL arms (gently please) and move the tractor away.

As I said earlier - it makes life easy.

By "Skid Steer QA" I am referring to the quick attach on the Bobcat (and these days - just about every skid steer in production).

You need to go with the L series to get it on Kubota as the Kubota QA available for the B3030 is non-standard (likely smaller). Although Neil said that ATI offered a standard skid steer QA for the B3030 I didn't go for it because the NH finance deal was just too sweet to pass up.

Note - just because you have the QA doesn't mean you can run skid steer attachments. The hydraulic and weight requirements severely limit what you can do with it. The main advantage is that for things you can use (like forks) - the price will be much cheaper (and easier to attach/detach).
