I have a gator 6x4 that uses a chain drive for the rear wheels. It gets used in a somewhat dusty area and was wondering what method works best to clean the chain before relubing. Also are there some good dry lubes other than what JD offers that I can use?

Probably the easiest way to clean it would be brake cleaner and a brush. If it's really gunked up you might try some carb cleaner.

You might also want to check with local motorcycle dealer that sells off road bikes. There are some really good citrus based non toxic chain cleaners on the market, as well as great lube products for your chain.
