How many owners of JD Compact Utility Tractors especially models 3120, 3320, 3520, 3720, and 4120 models, are aware of the U.S. Consumer Produst Safety Commission's recall for a Seat Belt Bracket Failure Hazard?

It is Recall Alert #06-567. The alert was put out back in July 25, 2006.

It states in the Recall Alert that Deere & Co. would be directly notifing those consumers who purchased an affected tractor. I have yet, as of todays posting, had any notice from Deere & Co. as to this safety hazard involving my 3320 tractor, which I purchased back in May of 2006 and has one of the serial numbers listed. Have any TractorByNet.com forum viewers received any notice from Deere & Co. for their listed tractor?

There are other Deere & Co. recalls for various compact utility tractors, so forum members should check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissions website and search for any alerts that may effect your particular tractor.

In my case, its obvious that Deere & Co. is lacking in notifying me of this hazard. Could they also be lacking in notifing you also?

If this has been an earlier posted topic I apologize.

I work for for an OEM manufacturer and have dealt with product safety recalls.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
In order for the manufacturer to contact you, the product must be properly registered by your dealer at the time of purchase. Some dealers are better at this than others - not placing blame, just an observation.

Often times, in the process of developing the recall, units are intercepted and repaired before they reach the dealer. Or the manufacturer may conduct a phone campaign and notify dealers of the fix in advance.

The best thing an owner can do is contact the manufacturer, in this case Deere at the phone number listed in the notice. BE SURE YOU HAVE THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE UNIT.

Customer service reps should be able to run the unit serial number to verify the correct registration (to you) and determine if the repair has been done. If a dealer performed the repair, a warranty claim would have been processed for it. If the repair is needed, they may possibly help arrange the repair.

Safety recalls do NOT have an expiration date and should be covered under the original warranty.
