Its only going to get worse, the IoT (internet of things) are often simple devices with little security and seldom get updated or patched. Some even have fixed passwords.. I have moved my cameras to separate network so they cannot "see" my home network.

I've never seen that one before, so now it's black-mail with fictitious info. Kinda comical. I do hate how they pick on the elderly with the phone calls.

Not quite the same thing, but Yahoo just sent me a notice offering their "Computer checkup, to speed up slow computers." I don't see myself allowing them any more access than they already get.
