Found a relatively inexpensive 6 1/2’ disc harrow at RuralKing. Made by King Cutter. Doesn’t seem very heavy duty, but I’m just going to use it for a couple of acres of food plots, and maintaining 9 acres of CRP. I don’t have AG tires on my CT225, but have the utility tires. Think my Bobcat (with filled tires (beat juice) can handle 6.6’? The disc is normally $1599, I found one for $1,150. It’s 650 pounds. I’m not 100% sure my 3 pt hitch will lift it. I know I can make adjustments to the discs to make them less aggressive, and pull easier. Hoping I can just use it. The CRP is in beans now, going to CRP this spring. (No till beans). The food plots have been tilled the last few years.
Thx
Jeff

If tractor data is correct your weighs around 3,000 lbs so it could possibly pull it depending on soil type.

I have an old Ford 54” tandem disc that I use on my Branson 2400H which is approx 1800 lbs with ag tires. Biggest issue is traction

Thanks. Have to stay out of the fields when they’re wet, that’s for sure.
Wish now I’d gone with AG tires.
Thanks again

Thanks, I did look those up. I also see my 3 pt hitch will lift it.

As long as you can get traction, it aught to pull fine.

Found a relatively inexpensive 6 1/2’ disc harrow at RuralKing. Made by King Cutter. Doesn’t seem very heavy duty, but I’m just going to use it for a couple of acres of food plots, and maintaining 9 acres of CRP. I've got 44 acres, just 10 tillable, the rest is timbered.

DETAILS
KING KUTTER'S ANGLE FRAME DISC HARROWS are constructed with heavy rigid angle iron. It connects easily to any three-point hitch with category one specifications. The disc gang axles are made of 1" square steel rods mounted on double thrust ring gray-iron bearings. All disc harrows have angle adjustments of 10 or 15 degrees. The 5 1/2' discs have two adjustments and the 6 1/2' has three.
  • Width: 6 1/2'
  • Number of blades: 20
  • Blade Diameter: 16"
  • Adjustment Settings: 3
    Shipping Weight650.pounds
Shipping weight of 650 pounds may include a 50 pound pallet and some packaging.

650 / 20 = 32.5 pounds bearing on each pan. Pan spacing is 7-1/2".

This angle-iron disc with 16" diameter pans is NOT heavy enough to scuff up food plots.

If you add weight to an angle iron frame disc chances are the frame will distort.

Just a thought

I’ve been looking for a few months. I’m finding mostly junk. All for around $1000. I’ll keep looking. Thanks

Dont get discouraged. You would be able to pull that disc fine, just understand its a lighter tool, and will not leave a finished tilled look in one pass. But several passes and that disc will do fine.

Even better if it has notched discs.
