IH Cub Lo Boy, 955 John Deere , TC 55 DA New Holland, Bolens HT 20 and 1456
My TC 55 is two weeks over due. I visited my dealer to check on the status. He indicated it should have arrived but the new loader may be holding production up. We tracked it through the computer and found the tractor was assembled on 9-18. It also indicated the loader arrived on 9-16. As no shipping date was indicated he called the plant to check on the order. The order number was located and was not marked as a sold retail order. They stated they are waiting for the loader which had not arrived. My salesman gave them some numbers off the tracking screen indicating a loader was assigned to this unit. Additional checking indicated a computer error at the plant had the loader scheduled for assembly on a TC 34. ( ??? How would that fit ??? ) They assured us the current loader will be assigned to the order and completed as soon as possible. They also said something about a " code blue " which possibly means the tractor would have sat there in limbo for who knows how long til someone checked the production numbers against the order. Dealer stock tractors must be assigned a lower priority so it is not unusual for them to just set them aside and build the retail orders. Hope this is cleared up quickly.
Another dealer quoted seperate shipping and mounting charges for the loader. Wonder how that works if it is part of the assembly process.

Brackets and some of the hydraulics are mounted at the factory, loader frame, bucket and any attachments are shipped with the tractor, but on a seperate pallet, or pallets, and must then be assembled and mounted on the tractor. Dealer "A" quoted seperately for shipping and mounting, Dealer "B" has the same costs, but just included it in the cost of the loader, in other words, he did not itemize.

Brochure states brackets and lines are attached. The quick mount system " attaches within minutes ". Would this constitute $300.00 ? Per the order number the loader must be ordered with the tractor order. If they come as one order number from the same location there wouldn't be two freight charges.

The "lines" are attached to the tractor, and the loader. The basic tractor mounting brackets are attached to the tractor, and after the iniitial installation, requiring the remainder of the hydraulic system to be installed, and the loader mainframe mounted to the tractor, the hydraulic system has to be cycled, purged, and leak tested. Then, and only then, can you utilize the "quick-tach" to mount and dismount in a few minutes. Also, no loader attachments are mounted. These have to be prepped, (time depends on attachment,) and mounted. As to whether this is $300 worth of time or not, depends on your dealer, and his flat rate for this job.

As to seperate freight charges, the tractor and loader are required to be ordered, but are seperate orders that are "linked." In other words, if the "loader-ready" tractor is ordered, it is required that a loader be ordered, and those two orders, irrevocably linked to each other. But there are still two freight charges, one for the tractor, and one for the loader.

Loader ready units come with all lines and joy stick installed. The loader ordered with it has hoses installed right down to the color coded caps on the tips. All that needs to be done is unbolt loader from pallet, lift up and install into sockets, insert pins, plug in quick couplers, install 4 pins into bucket or quik tac, grease loader, purge cyclinders, top off hydraulic level, adjust level indicator and install dealer stickers. Takes less than an hour.

Dealer installed loaders need the joy stick, hyd lines and loader brackets installed on the tractor. That takes another 2 hours.

Whitetiger; I would go with your explanation as it sounds reasonable. What would be the point of an order number with ( must be ordered together ) if the brackets and lines were not factory installed? Not sold on the two freight charges as of yet. Now that I am curious I will ask.
