I think you are correct here. I am not suggesting that folks all buy ZTR's. I have found though that at least in my case, one myth surrounding ZTR mowing seems not to be the case, and that is that ZTR mowers need heavily obstacled areas to make time on conventional mowers. This is not the case in my case, the ZTR easily outmowed equipment I thought would be its equal. I also would say that hills and rough ground have been mentioned as detriments to ZTR mowing. I do not really think that is the case either. There are few places as hilly as where I live, and some of the ground is rough. I did not have anymore trouble than I did with other equipment in these areas either. The big question we will have to ask those that are looking is whether they have mowing needs that affords them a good look at a ZTR. Also bear in mind we are talking specifically about a John Deere ZTR, which is among the best for durability, speed and cut quality. Other brands might not have done so well.
