2001 John Deere 790 4x4, bar tires
I know there are plenty pics of COF's on TBN, but hey, what's one more?? I ordered a set from SkidSteerExpress.com last Monday evening, and Thursday morning at 10am the fedex guy dropped them off at the doorstep. This set sells for $169, which includes shipping. Didn't really get a chance to try them out yet, but I'm sure I'll be happy with them.

Looks good, that seems like a good price for clamp on forks with a 4,000lb capacity!
I might have to get some for my john deere 410

For that price shipped they look great, even though I'm no fan of COFs

I like the option of sliding an upright in there. What are the key holes for? are they for putting a chain in to aid in support or stability?

JB.

Yep, the key holes are for chains to secure the COF's in place and spread the load around some, because they do offer ratchet type load binders as an option when you order them. I didn't order them btw. I'm not real sure that I can even use load binders to secure them in place, the bucket is pretty small. If I experimented with it some, I could probably rig up some way to attach load binders to it though. I do like the idea of spreading some of the load to the top lip of the bucket. Oh yeah, these forks weigh 48lbs each.

I got a set of them last year, expected to be disapointed because of the price. I was wrong, they are quality heavy duty made. Made my life easier:thumbsup:.
I'd get them again.

I don't know if it's true or not but some of the clamp on fork companies swear you should run a chain around the bucket or you could bend your cutting edge. I've got a set for my full size BH and use them quite often. They are a little hard to see because of the bucket but still a must have.

Good price. My clamps are only on the lip and my bucket is bent a little - seems to droop in the middle maybe as much as an inch. I use them mostly for hauling brush but every now and then I'll do something fairly heavy - couch, refrigerator and compressor come to mind.

Another thing you can do to make the forks more stable (and less likely to scrape off as you back up out of a pallet and drag the ground) is run a chain or covered cable back around and hook to a fair sized turnbuckle to tighten them with. You can tighten the turnbuckle by hand plenty well enough, short of distorting your bucket. This method will make a world of difference in keeping them on and from "V-ing" out when side stresses are put on them. The chain binders really can put more pressure on your bucket than you need if you don't watch what your doing. You can also use the nylon straps load binders. Available at your friendly Wal-Mart:)
