Chinese knockoff saws?

If I...I wouldn't purchase "clone" saw, getting parts could be issue or having dealer repair, plus you might have more plans for the future.

Many of these clones use 100% the same parts as the original. As long as you get parts from sthil or husky you can get parts for those saws. Unless you think those companies will not support their $1000+++ saws.

A husky 372 is $1200+, the clone is $400 all parts interchange.

Nowadays you never know who makes what.
I recently bought a JUKI Serger for my wife. It was supposed to be 100% Japan made machine. So was stared in the living, on the box, insulation ad so on.
Only on the bottom of the box was a little peace of paper. Quality control sort signed by Tran Huy Hoang and Chinese writings.
Also, toyota come to mind, Japanese car made where?
My guess all those companies outsourcing parts, the clones you buy are mostly if not 100% same as brand names. Just my guess

I repair everything myself and use mostly aftermarket parts due to cost. Some as good or better than OEM some is not quite and some is junk. Some OEM parts are junk as well. Live and learn, I want a 372 clone to add to my 353 and 450. This year drought and heat cost me a lot of income so it won't happen yet.
For now I'll just chisel away with the 353 which is running a clone top end after I wore out the oem jug and piston (my fault not parts).

Of course you can not take a clone saw to the name brand "dealer" but then I never do anyway.

I think the aftermarket parts quality varies.

Had good luck with Caber rings and a Meteor piston but was afraid to try no name ones.
the oilers I tried- one good the another was unusable junk another was completely the wrong part and the seller had me send pics so I sent him shots of a caliper showing how far things were off. On the same note I remember someone posting that some factory Stihl replacement parts from china as well .

They are but they're made to Stihl's quality standards. Chinese companies can make high quality products but the buyer needs to pick the right company and monitor production to ensure quality is maintained. They can also produce cheaply made products for buyers who want that. Buyer here not being the end customer but the company that's commissioning the manufacturing and using or wholesaling the products.

@whit61 If you prefer stihl models. 90cc range. They have the upgraded saws called G660 pro. With with carbon look covers. Dont care about that crap myself.
But they come with meteor cylinder, meteor piston and caber ring. Walbro carbs etc.

Same with 70cc range G372xp pro.

IMO those few items worth the upgrades cost.

Shipped price from Jes. IMO get the preflight inspection and tune. Holzfforma G660 Pro (Powerhead only)
