This has come up a number of time - "How do I carry my chain saw on my tractor?". I've been thinking about building this gadget for some time and finally got around to it.

You are all familiar with a bar cover. Well, this is just a wooden bar cover that I bolted to the loader frame on my B2910.

Here are the parts ready for assembly

Here it is assembled. I used scrap wood, so it's not real pretty, but it works. I like wood for this purpose to prevent damage to the bar and chain.

Here's the "bar cover" over the chainsaw bar.

Here's how it mounts to the loader frame. It's a bit hard to see, but I used carrage bolts run thru the edges of the wooden cover, the metal straps over the loader frame cross bar. The carrage bolts go thru all three layers of plywood that make up the bar cover to give it max strength.

Here's the same view but with a bit more perspective. I might have a problem with clearance between the wooden bar cover and the front wheel. If the wheel is turned, and the tractor is tipped, they might collide. Time will tell. Worst case, I'll just raise the whole thing up, but I am hoping to keep the saw as low as possible to limit the thrashing about and resulting stress on the whole apparatus.

Chain saws are like tractors. Why have one when you can have two!

And here's the view from the drives seat. I'll probably be complaining about poor visibility in short order.

Nice lookin job. I got one similar mounted on my logging winch. You must be in some real rugged country to have all 4 wheels chained up.
