High on my 2007 project list is the purchase and installation of a ROPS on my YM2020...this tractor has a factory PTO shield held on by 4 bolts to the rear of the axle housing...in the "Family 6" ROPS installation instructions I see that the lower rollbar mount uses these same 4 bolt holes...has anyone installed a ROPS on a tractor with a PTO shield & if so

1) Can the factory PTO shield be mounted on top of the ROPS lower rollbar mount and continue to do it's job satisfactorily?

2) If the original PTO shield can indeed be used as I think it can does the fact that the new installation bolts won't thread quite as far into the rear of the axle housing as they would with no PTO shield reduce the structural integrity of the ROPS in any way?

3) Does anyone have a pic of such an installation?

Thanks To All, bk

Very good idea! I installed one that I purchased from LMTC on my YM2220D and the installation was identical to what you described.

Yes

2) If the original PTO shield can indeed be used as I think it can does the fact that the new installation bolts won't thread quite as far into the rear of the axle housing as they would with no PTO shield reduce the structural integrity of the ROPS in any way?

No. Those are not the only bolts attaching the ROPS. There is also, on mine at least, a pair of bolts which capture the rear axle housing on each side. Even if that were not the case, the reduced engagement due to the presence of the PTO shield is insignificant. There is still more than enough thread engagement to develop the full shear and tensile strength of the bolts.

3) Does anyone have a pic of such an installation?

I don't currently have any, but I'll try to remember to take a few tomorrow and post them tomorrow night.
