I have a new Kabota M7040HDC. After several weeks of very dusty conditions, I checked and was appalled at the air filter. Rushing down to the dealer, I asked for 3 replacement filters and was give a statement for $145.00. I quickly returned two of them back across the counter. Does any one have a suitable substitute. I have found that the air filter for a 92-98 Dodge Viper has the same dimensions but it has an oil impregnated foam glued to the inside surface.

I use my air compressor to clean my air filter. I usually get real dirty after cleaning those filters due to all the dust that comes out. :)

joe is spot on with this one. the only time i have ever replaced a cab filter was when it had a hole in the element and i have worked in some seriously dust conditions, at one place we had to blow out the radiator, air filters and cab filters every 4 hours just to keep things cool and going.. just blow that puppy out. but dont do it inside what ever you do. very messy.

Though not directly related.. I can sure say I am not impressed with the design of the cabin air filter on my GMC yukon. For one thing.. my manual does not mention a repalcement filter.. so i never looked for it.

One day the ac 'died' Seems the filter was plugged.. fan drew extra suction, and some o f that nasty dark foam was sucked intot he fan.. making it run off ballance.. wiping the fan motor out.

I'm way -unimpressed- with GM's implementation... ( of course.. I'm way unimpressed with a huge list of items on that GMC... )

After owning a few GM pickup trucks, I was always impressed as to how cheaply they could engineer things, and they would still work.:D

I'm impressed that they work at all.. considering how cheaply they try to engineer things.

I've had nearly ever major electrical component in that yukon replaced under warrant at one time or another.. including the master ECM harness that runs out all over the truck eng compartment, as well as all the main modules.. like ABS.. etc. fuel sensor.. etc..

When i think GMA.. I think what I've been thru with that yukon.

They must have told the guy that built mine that he was getting laid off at the end of the day...

I've got a 90 ford aerostar cargo van with umpteen zillion miles on it, rust everywhere, and crumbling plastic all over it.. and it has had less engine and elec problems than that yukon that is 10ys newer, and has only 80k miles on it.. etc.

What are the measurements? A JD 3520 cab air filter is only $25.75.
