I purchased a used F2560 front mount mower and it came with the front mount "boot" that I assumed was used for a plow. I already had a BX2230 with a BX2570D and BX2571 hydraulic boot. My F2560 has a Curtis cab and a heater. It would be more comfortable to deal with the snow in the country where I live. Does anyone know of any problems I would run into if I just used the non-hydraulic mount and attach the snowblower directly where I normally attach the front mowing deck. I would not need the hydraulic lines on my first boot to raise and lower the snowblower because I could just use the mower deck hydraulics to do that job. I wondered about the direction the shaft turns on my BX2230 vs the F2560. Do any of you snow guru's know of any problems I might encounter? Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to offer.

Although not identical, I had a front mount blower on my F3060. It attached via a bayonet attach which I assume is what you refer to as a 'boot'. I'd say if the pto shaft matches your F2560, give it a try. Other than the fact that the blower wouldn't be of any use running backwards, I can't imagine it would be damaged giving it a try at low rpm. I no longer own the F3060 and can't recall if the blower reduction box reversed the rotation.
