BX Hydraulic Valve Mod

Unlike many Bota with the BX when you remove the FEL, the valve goes with it. This can be a pain if you need it for something else like a snow blower or a front blade.

Nothing I like better than a $900 valve collecting dust when you need one. NOT.
Not anymore that is.

To accomplish this you obviously need to remove the valve, bracket and all, from the FEL.
Then you need to make a bracket. I used 1/4 inch flat stock 4 inches wide. The upper piece is 8" the lower is 7" long.
I used the existing 1/4 bolt location which fastens the valve to fasten the new bracket to the old bracket. I then used three 5/16 bolts to attach the assembly to the FEL uprights.

In my case the original bracket sprung open about 1/4 inch when I unbolted it from the FEL. This was enough clearance to allow the FEL arms to slip inside again. You may have to or want to spread it more.

No it is not "Just that simple" of course nothting worth while is.
Now you have to lengthen you blue and white FEL line. In my case I added 4 inches to both, three probably would work.

The only other thing was to sit back and smile at a job well done.

There she is on the tractor and not collecting dust on the FEL in storage.

Great job! I too prefer to have the control valve stay with the tractor. Professional looking job.

That's the method my dealer suggested. And I agree it isn't as clean. When they first told me to do that I laughed but they were serious so I suggested welding a bracket pretty much like Woodstock fabricated. They said Kubota recommends the first method but they would give me a can of paint if I'd like to fabricate my own. I'm thinking that's the way to go. Now I just need the time to putz with it.

Is that black switch to the left of your key the control for the chute rotator? I've got to get some pictures of that power chute so I can make one up.

I also think I am going to take a stab at the hydraulic shute angle adjuster, It will be a home grown one.

I was looking at this last night as a weekend project but was wondering about the hose routing after the joystick is mounted to the loader frame. Currently the hoses run through the loader quick connect arm and there are a couple of braces and a rod. Did you simply mount the joystick to the subframe in the same position and unbolt it from the loader quick connect arm and then snake the hoses in/out of the existing routing? It looks like it should work that way but the tolerances are quite close. Has it been a hassle to get the hoses connected/disconnected when attaching/detaching the loader?

Yes it works as you say with the original hose routing., but youy do have to lengthen the two hoses I talked about.
I am considering rerouting the hoses so you do not have to disconnect the line that go between the Valve and the tractor. You woould just disconnect the four FEL lines.
