I only have 125 hours on this 2008 BX 24, MMM, FEL, BH. So, it is like brand new almost (except for the mud! 
). I now have a leak in my steering cylinder. Hyd fluid leaks out pretty good where the piston rod enters the cylinder when it is being used under pressure. I am assuming the seals are bad. I have ordered a replacement seal kit from Messicks for $28 plus tax and shipping, probably around $50 when all said and done. Local hydraulics shop here will do the rebuild once I have it removed.
It doesn't look like too hard of a job to remove the cylinder but I was wondering how to keep from losing too much Hydraulic fluid when I take the hoses off? Should I plug the lines or is this something I don't have to worry too much about?
Also, once the cylinder is free, what is a good way to get the ball joints to release easily? Any special tricks or anything I should know or be watching out for? I am NOT a mechanical wizard but not bad with a wrench either. Just not enough experience I guess.
