Does any one here have any experience with clamp-on or hang-on bucket forks? I need to do some pallet moving with my TC33DA and 15LA loader and don't want to fork (no pun intended) out the cash to purchase the quick attach conversion and everything else necessary for the skid steer attachment. I'll need to be lifting and moving up to 650 pounds. I know the forks themselves will hold up. I'm mainly concerned with the strain on the loader bucket.

I bought a high quality pair of clampon bucket forks for my 2120 and used them about a week before I returned them. They work but the load is way far out and hard to see. The forks also had a tendancy to swivel at the most undersirable times (and dumploads). I found them dangerous. If you are very careful you can probably make them work. I traded them in for $800 Quick Attach forks and love them.

To which Quick Attach forks are you referring?

I have a set of Woods forks. Mine are rated at 4000 lbs. The one this link goes to are rated at 1700 lbs. A Woods dealer can help you find other Woods versions. I have used mine for over 10 years and lifted all kinds of loads including large boulders that I could only pull about an inch off the ground on my TN with over 3000 lb lift capacity.

My TN has the New Holland Quick Attach factory installed. MY 2120 had an ATI Quick Tach added. Would never have a tractor without them. Went way too many years without and didn't know what I was missing.

Would a 3 point carry-all work for you? You can find them for around $100 or so. Not quite as handy to use as front forks, but it sounds like you won't use it a lot. I actually modified mine so I can hook it to the quick attach on the FEL, thereby having pallet forks on whichever end I want with only implement.

Is it possible for a picture(s) of your modifications? It would be appreciated :)- Jay

I bought a set of lightweight quick attach forks for about 450 from my NH dealer -- they only lift about 750 - 800 lbs but they are really handy for moving wood and downed trees.
