Bought a new Kubota bucket today, bolt on edge or not

Dealer gets stupid money for a Kubota cutting edge.

I want to take the old cutting edge off my bucket , cut it up and weld it in my L39 and excavator buckets for home made side cutters.

Ayone know where I can purchase cutting edge stock at a good price?

I can drill holes as required.

Been a long time since I've bought any. Could only suggest some of the equipment dealers...... Sleeper in Concord, Bobcat in Chichester, Anderson (Formerly R C Hazelton) in Manchester.

I found mine at very rural used equipment business. They have tons of books behind the counter. It was shipped by truck from Memphis or Nashville. the thickness, width and length were all options. I expect it weighed 150+ pounds. I think it retailed at $346 and my cost was $225 but I went with most heavy cutting edge in the book having 60 HP. The price of the edges at the Case dealer were out of sight price wise.

Hey WaxMan,

I was just looking at toothbars on WRLong's website and noticed they sell a wear blade. I don't know if this is something that would work for your needs. Just a thought. Here is the link and a couple of pictures off their site.

I wonder how that would hold up with hard digging/pushing over trees/etc. It would be good protection of the OEM cutting edge when removing snow off concrete/pavement.

Their website info does not add up. The lighter duty blades of the same length weigh more than the industrial grade that are thicker.

Thank you for the link, looks like they don't make a 60 inch, I could just put that on for the winter? I think now the winter plowing would be where I would wear down the new bucket edge the most. That might be just the winter option I need, Looks like that would even work with the worn out edge on the old bucket. Thanks for thinking of me.

I didn't price a bolt on blade for my new bucket but if around 200.00 for new bolt on edge? 265.00 for a new Kubota QA, I can just switch between old and new Buckets.......
Anybody use a factory Kubota QA B2365 for a b3030????
Is it any good to have your bucket attached to it for ever? Does it have problems, Rattles? loose fitting? hard to line up pins?
Has anybody been using one for some time?

There are definitely a bunch of TBNers that have the Kubota QA..... though not sure how many on a B3030 specifically. They have gotten good reviews. I only recall one member having a slight problem getting his Kubota forks on it. I think a little hand filing was all it took to cure the problem. I think they are a decent option as long as you never need anything on your loader other than a Kubota bucket or Kubota forks. Had you asked about it before you bought the new bucket, I would have tried very hard to talk you into the universal skidsteer set-up.

That bucket edge from Long looks interesting. My cutting edge is fairly worn also. Me.... I'd probably just weld it on though.

It would have cost me 170.00 for the blade, a days worth of cutting, welding, grinding and painting. Then to have welds less the perfect and paint that will come off the very first time I use it, 560.00 was a better choice for me. The paint is super tough on a New Kubota bucket.
I think I will order the QA. then decide what way I'm going on the old bucket. tooth bar etc.

I am pretty sure you supply them with the measurement of the inside of your bucket and they build to your measurement.
