Kubota B2920
Have a B2920 Kabota with 29HP. Wondering what size bottom plow i should get. 12, 14, 16 inch, etc. Think HP sufficient for either but wondering about ground clearance when plow is lifted and moving around. Being it sits lower to the ground, would this be a problem with any of the bottom plows

I have a kubota L2500 and have a 16" single bottom and it handles it with ease. In all honesty I wish I would have gotten a double bottom but for as much as I use it the single will suffice but as for pulling power I can't even tell its back there.

I feel same way,bought a new single 14" for my L3400 and wish I would have bought a 2 bottom. :(

You guys might be amazed at what happens when adding a second bottom to a small and light tractor. The "tail wagging the dog" is the saying that comes to mind.

Of course, soil type, wetness, and vegetation are factors as well.

My 70HP with a 3-bottom requires a lot of front weight (bucket full of dirt) to keep it in the furrow. The plow wants to spin you out of the furrow with the sideways force of the turning action - it acts like a boat rudder.

Thanks I feel somewhat better now. :D

You should be able to pull a 2x12" plow as long as your soil isn't too tough. If it is then a 1x14" would work also. Either way make sure you get a plow that is sized for small compact tractors. I have an old 2x14" plow that I use on my NAA Ford. It fits on the B3200, but I have never tried it plowing as the 3pt hitch geometry isn't right (it's made for utility sized tractors.)

I have a 12" single bottom for my BX2660 (25hp) and it pulls it just fine. There are some clearance issues as I have about 6" less than you do IIRC. My front axle drags the edge off the furrow. I don't think you'll have that problem. I suspect that if your soil isn't clay that yours should pull a 14" with no problem. One little thing I read is that bottom plows will go half as deep as they are wide. The max mine will turn effectively is 6", so your 14 should go 7.

Type in (everything implements.com). Watch the buying a plow video.

That should be How To Video Demos - Implements & Attachments Very nice videos. To the best of my knowledge, however, there is no "buying a plow" video. There's a few on how to plow and on plows both compact and standard, all very good I think (just remember, they are trying to sell you something), but none on buying a plow. I don't think. But I'd be happy to be contradicted. Please point it out to me if there is a vid. on buying a plow.

I'm having the same problem. I keep getting contradictory information. I've got a MF 1528, 20ish pto hp, about 2500 pounds. Some tell me that I can only run a compact single bottom and some tell me I can run a standard single bottom even up to 16". I wish there was a formula; tractor weight + pto hp / soil conditions to the power of something-or-other = spectrum of plow sizes and configuration for said tractor. QED. There's got to be an ag. tec. Phd. thesis in that somewhere.
