Can anyone tell me the pto speed for the 1948 snowblower. I have the 1948 currently mounted to a Massey gc, the mid pto turns at 2000 rpm's. I noticed the chute plugs often, wondering if it needs more rpm. Thanks Bruce

Looks to me as if that blower was factory matched to your tractor in which case I'd say no.
Plugging is the nature of the beast and occurs more often with wet snows.
Just keep your RPM's up while blowing* and don't take to big a gulp.
In deep snows raise the blower somewhat and make a second pass to finish up.
Again once a first pass is done you can then do 1/2 width passes.

If you are referring to the snow conditions in your pix I can appreciate why you plug up.
That's a significant snow event and even a large tractor would have problems.

Another thing is to not re blow snow that was previously blown as it is much more compacted.

*dropping RPM's is a sure sign you are pushing the limits, back off and take smaller 'gulps'.

2000 rpm is what the Bolens/Iseki tractor's front PTO are rated at as well and they can use the 1948. It takes a lot of hp to move that kind of snow fast without issues. As PILOON stated, unless the snow is very "dry" it is likely to give you problems. Waxing the chute internally can temporarily help and I think there are special coatings for this too out there made by plow companies (?) but my memory fails me on the details.

I just got a Bolens 1948 Snowblower and it came attached to a kubota B7100 HST that I bought. Any info you could give me would be great because I can't find any on the web.
