bleeding power steering system on a 1969 John Deere 4010

I am working on a 4010 with steering issues. The steering valve plate cracked. After replacing the plate, and "butterflys" the tractor has no steering. Need help on the next steps before I pull the pump and recheck for debris.

What are you referring to as butterflies? Did you have the correct "special plate(tool)" to set the valves with???

No. Reset valves back to original position on the plates. Measured and counted threads.

There is no bleeding procedure for that as normally you just start steering it till it self bleeds.

Have you ever resealed and set valves on a JD closed center steering valve utilizing the "counting threads" method? If so that a new method for me. Plus there was never a '69 JD 4010 ever built as JD stopped building them in '63

Started tractor and found wheels lock to left. Shut tractor down, jacke dfrontt of tractor up manually moved wheels to right lock position lower and restarted. Wheel imediately went left, no steering wheel respose when turned. ant suggestions

Valves in steering valve housing are set wrong. It takes special knowledge to set valves correctly. I suggest you find a knowledgeable person or buy a JD 4000 series technical manual. Someone with a test stand similar to the one in photo would be BEST.
