Tires BH and loaded tires ... Why not??

I think that Ronjhall is right and it is liability issues if the ROPS were to fail. At one time, don’t know about current models, Kubota said no loaded tires on cab models for the same reason. Personally I don’t think the added weight is going to cause the ROPS to fail but narrows the company’s safety margin against liability issues so it is safer for them say don't do it. My manual tells me to unload the tires when using the backhoe and to reload them when the backhoe is off. This is on a tractor designed to be a TLB. I find that to be such a ridiculous procedure to suggest that it could only be a liability issue. I’ll keep mine loaded.

My Kubota dealer said it was a non issue and got that information from Dennis Hood at Kubota. He said that loaded tires were not needed when the BH is attached since it already has enough counter weight. However, that is not how the manual stated it. If it is a real safety concern because of the ROPS they should just say it.

By the way, it is a BH 75 on my new L3400 HST. Just got it delivered yesterday (tires loaded).

my B7800 manual says not to fill past 75% - reason why is simple, a full tire can not be compressed as it moves - thus you have a solid tire... a full tire results in undue strain to the tire/rim and a harsh ride. so in my case, the rops better be able to handle the extra weight - just hope i never have to find out...

dealer did say no fluid in front tires as that puts too much strain on the front end components (at least for the 7800). he said i could fill with foam but they did not recommend it as you then have to cut the tire off when worn or better to just buy a new tire/rim combo...
