Ballast in tires or in box?

Yes, I did order the FEL.

It's hard to separate what's in the bid vs what's not. Or what the salesman though they would do prior to the discussion about wheel ballast. It's a package price at a discount. $24980: 4310 eHydro, 4WD, 430 loader, 47 BH, Mid PTO, 3rd SCV, TeleLinks. No ballast box was listed.

I want to be able to run ballasted without the BH. They offered a calcium load in the tires as the cheapest incremental cost to enable that. They will "swap" for the ballast box for the same amount.

So I'm not sure if the ballast box was a hidden thing that was implied in the base order or not. I don't think so. I think the BH was the ballast in the original bid.

I'll be interested to see what you find out. When my tractor was delivered the ballast box was on the trailer along with the 3pt links - It's just sitting there in the garage since then - I've kept the BH on and probably will for a long time. Right now anyway I really don't have a use for it - it makes a great place to put all my dirty boots though! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

One other note - I've seen it written on the forum several times regarding calcium fill in the tires - My dealer won't do it, although they will fill with other material. He believed with the BH on that I've got all the weight I'd need on that size tractor, and if the BH is off, to use the ballast box. I agree - no matter how I weight the rear end I'd do it with something removable - weights, ballast, etc.

I'm planning on getting a rear blade either this week, or next paycheck out. You know how that goes... so many toys- so little $$. Once that is in, and if this snow ever melts I'm going to start grading the areas I've cleared.
