'bad' backs are a difficult thing. luckily mine comes and goes. Looking for wood to knock on as it has been awhile since mine 'went out'. Looks like it is heating up in your 'neck of the woods' or whatever you call it. I don't mind heat but there better be lots of water to cool off in. We have been getting good use of our cheap 'misters' that I mounted on the eaves around the deck. Highly recommend.

I've had a bad back for most of my adult life. The thing that helps me the most is to stretch it whenever possible. I try doing it in before and after my night's sleep. Also after using it for something strenuous, in the past that would put it into spasms. I've been doing this for maybe 6 months and haven't had debilitating pain since starting, hardly have had any pain at all.

Here's another, seems to me you do the ones that work best for you. #3 is my go to, quick and easy with a super good lower back stretch. It can also be done sitting on a bed, stretch your legs out and bring your chest as low as possible to your knees.

I was "toughing it out" with my lower back pain, found out when I went to chiropractor that I could not stand on my tiptoes, no left leg action at all, went to my family doc who sent me to neurologist who did MRI and sent me to spine surgeon who sent me to get epidural steroid injections in my lower back, which immediately relieved the pain, for awhile. First time was 3 months, second time less. Spine surgeon had conductive nerve test done (nerves were still there, but I needed surgery to have any chance of recovering left leg function (bad toe drop) and then MRI done, found stenosis (narrowing of spinal canal) along with some cysts pressing on spine. L4/5 joint was loose and if he just cleaned out spinal canal, the loose joint would cause the cysts to return within a year, so I had a L4/5 fusion and the spinal canal cleaned. I had immediate relief of pain in my back and left leg. I was back to work full time in two weeks, released for full activity in 5 weeks, did physical therapy twice a week for 6 months and am enjoying life again. I had really good results for the pain, and better than the doctors expected for the nerve recovery. My toe drop is much less, I still can't stand on tiptoes (but I can at least try where there was nothing before).

I left out that I am over weight and had to loose 50lbs before doc would do surgery. If you can avoid the pain with diet, exercise and stretching, I highly recommend it.

Thanks folks,
Do quite a few of the stretches.
Went to CU because of bank problems. Wells included.
Now CU's seem to part of the problem.
One time B of A charged me for a balanced check, when I had money in my account.
At 1 time I knew most of the people in the bank. Even had lunch with the in the bank.
Good old days are pretty much gone

One good thing the weather has been real cool, about 10 degrees below normal, Down to 66 in early AM
Nice for a little while. Now at 101 1:55 PM. Warms up real fast once sun comes up.

We bought a TV at Costco, less than a week after the return period ended, it started acting up. The picture would turn off, still had sound, just no picture. At first, we could get it to come back playing with the remote, then it turned into having to turn it off, wait, turn it on. I finally called costco concierge desk for help. They have a script they go through having you reset the TV, etc. None of it fixed the TV, but I got real good at adding the channels back, hiding the ones we don't watch, etc. They sent a repair man out, one of his first comments was, I better take some pictures, I have never worked on one like this before. He replaced some parts and got it back together. The problem was still there, they finally agreed to replace it. We got notice it was at shipping dock for pickup, called to arrange pickup, they said they had to have old TV before they could release new one. We took the old one in, signed the paperwork for new one and discovered big hole in box, but TV appeared okay. Took it home, set it up. When Costco guy called to see if it had been replaced yet, told him the story, he said the shipping company was supposed to come to our home and swap it out (they paid extra for white glove treatment)... It works, but likely not to buy that brand again.

It frustrates me when something as simple as a TV is unreliable and has issues. When I sit down in front of TV, it is one of two things, to watch news (like status of wildfires locally right now) or to entertain. Having to mess with the TV to get things to work is not either..

... and this TV mess happened to me when I was having my worst back pain and I was usually on ice packs or heating pad or just trying to find a position that did not hurt as bad.

Well life was going pretty well & I was happy.
Other than crappy sound (makes my ears cry ) its fine, double channels no big deal.

Then when I think things aren't going to go bad. it happens.

Could hardly sleep last nigh, fairly normal. Left at 6:30 & drove 5miles to gt ac fixed. Place hard to find, but got there a little early.
Got truck checked in & went to donuts shop out in front. Coffee & 2 donuts. No wallet & no $$$ OK pain in the butt, go home no wallet. Looked every place even the bathroom. Nope gone. Knew something was not right when bony & bobby came out to meet me in the yard. Clinton, crook #2 back in area, saw him walking down the road a few days ago.
$800 /$900 cash gone, CC, Drivers lic. & all that sort of thing. Bank giving me new CC & think can get D/L with PH call.
Good thing is, plenty of food beer, all bills paid, dog seeds.

Life goes on & sure hope it gets better. Back not too bad, feet ankles hurt if I walk much.

more later when it can be fun & happy

About 60 years go my mother gave me some advice I have followed ever since, "Don't carry anymore money than you can afford to lose." I've found that to be pretty good advice over the years. Sorry about your loss.
