All,

Mark Twain once said after newspapers printed his obituary "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." Please forgive my absence after being engaged more frequently on this forum in the past. We opened our "Ask the RK Tractor Guy" customer portal early this year so customers and prospective customers can get a quick and accurate response to their questions about RK Tractors. It has been working very well, we get many questions daily on a range of topics from pricing, availability, financing, operating, trade-ins, manuals, maintenance, repair, delivery, etc. This portal allows us to answer directly to the person that has the interest. As some of you have commented, RK Tractors is growing very fast, and the customer portal is a way for us to better support existing and potential customers. In order to make these questions and our answers available to a broader audience, we will be adding an extensive knowledge base capability to rktractors.com later this year. Every inquiry goes into our customer relationship management (CRM) system so we can better understand what people want to know, and improve our ability to deliver information without even having to ask us.

As most of you can see by the RK Tractors banner ads, we support TBN with a substantial advertising investment, and consider Muhammad and his team great partners.

My movement away from regularly posting on TBN came about as the topics and the scale of information sharing needed to effectively manage customer and prospective customer inquiries grew much larger. We still follow the forum, our team has grown, we see the questions (and the critics), and use this information to make our public information better. We also PM individuals to assist. Regular users of TBN forums know that one person's sincere interest in a topic can come off the rails quickly as some respondents look for opportunities to share info that is incorrect, or use the opportunity to bash. Never understood that part, but we do understand that we are getting noticed by competitors. That was our goal, it means that we are seeing success.

For those that needing anything from us, please use this link to select a topic and tell us what we can do to assist. It is easy and it works well. Yes, we can sometimes slip up and not get back right away, but nearly all inquiries are responded to within 24 hours, most much sooner.

There is a team of guys answering any questions submitted through that portal. I know because I've submitted several. I don't think the actual RK Tractor Guy answers those questions. Which is confusing that they named it what they did. Regardless, the "tech support" I've received through the portal has always been friendly, quick (within an hour or three), and quite helpful, going above and beyond to answer my questions or resolve my issues, no questions asked. It seems to be a great set-up. I just hope they keep up the good service for years to come and don't become more separated from the customers as some companies tend to do when they grow larger. So far I give them a thumbs up. Time will tell.

Depending on the questions, some (the more difficult ones) do end up getting answered by him. But the simpler questions get answered many times by someone in your local store, or another person somewhere in the team.

As far as the point made about others being able to see/read the answers given, I agree that is the advantage of a forum, but as a widespread source of information, it's just not practical. The website RK has put together is much more user friendly than a forum, and accessible to most. I'm assuming frequent questions will be added as time goes on, and some questions may continue to be answered here, but as far as a timely thought out system to respond, the website is just more functional and able to handle task. And as the RKTG said, they do monitor this forum for issues/questions/concerns.

Thanks for chiming in RK Tractor Guy. I think what you guys are trying to do is great. I have been a devoted Kubota Guy for the past 20 years. I still like my Kubota s a lot but Kubota seems to have gotten used to high sales and their prices reflect this. I like tractors of all types and never pass on a chance to check them out. RK's pricing was very attractive and the machine's test drove well. I was alleviated in buying a "new brand" because RK convinced me that they were indeed committed to making this work. Some people say ok we will try this or that. And then there are people that just go out and do it. RK is onto something here if they continue. I bought my RK 55, hydro, cab in December of 2018. It has around 150 hours on it now and I have worked it hard. It is a solid machine with great features and great performance. A comparable tractor is the other colors would have cost $15-$20k more. This convinced me to give RK a try.

As often happens in forum discussions things get a bit messy and misunderstood.

Here's my take on this. RK is the acronym for Rural King Farm Stores. RK does not manufacture any piece of a tractor. RK is a Dealership selling TYM tractors badged RK under a contractual agreement between the two companies.

If I have misunderstood this arrangement please correct me.

So, anyone on TBN that owns an RK tractor and would like to have a forum discussion about it maybe they can get their answers by posting in the TYM forum here on TBN?

I'm not sure I'd call them a dealership ... yet. They may be working more towards that, but given that they have fixed, inflexible pricing and do not take trades of any other brand, they're not really a dealership in my view.

While RK does not manufacture anything sold in their stores at all, as I understand it, they have arranged to have certain additions like remotes made standard by TYM on RK models that TYM branded tractors do not have when sold at TYM dealers.

I guess I am a little confused now about posting in the TYM forum concerning RK tractors?? I am new to this forum but I thought I was in the RK tractor forum created for RK tractors. If I am in the wrong place please correct me. I too understand that RK does not manufacture the tractor but contracts with TYM to build them to their spec. in a crate. RK then assembles them with tires bought from here in the US and loads the tires, does the final fit and finish and then offers the 8 year warranty. I do have a dog in this as an RK 55 owner. It is a big investment for me. One of the things that sold me was the nice sales lady that was excited I wanted to test drive them and stood in the rain while I did so on a Saturday night vs. the local color dealers that acted like I was bothering them to ask any questions on a nice sunny day. I hope my tractor serves well for many years. It seem well built to me but it is a machine and they all break eventually.

I guess I am a little confused now about posting in the TYM forum concerning ...

It's still a TYM machine and there are more TYM owners. It's more likely you'll get replies from experienced owners who may not come to this section.
