Ya, but you don't have to buy a Mig welder, a Plasma cutter, a map gas system, blow torch, and an Oxy Acetylene system.

All in one is a lot cheaper than buying several separate units. Along with 100% duty cycle and not needing additional gas bottles.

Acetylene has a lot of energy per volume and burns hot, alcohol does not. Don't know about water and how that plays into the deal. I would want to see it work first hand, and have information on the consumables before plopping $2k on the table.

Anyone have firsthand experience?

Multiplaz 3500? - The Home Shop Machinist & Machinist's Workshop Magazine's BBS

SSome answers and questions on the Multiplaz 3500, and yes I do have one, it only weights 17 and one half pounds and easy to carry in its own carrying case How about your plasma cutter and welder ? 2.Yes it does easily cut three eights mild steel. 3. It runs on both 110 and 220 voltage which makes it easy to find an acceptable power source. 4. When using it outdoors tig welding the wind doesn't blow my shielding gas away. 5 I save a lot of money since I don't have to buy bottles or gas of any kind. Unlike argon the fumes don't bother me or the environment which makes it great in tight situations . Oh yea there are no ultraviolet rays to burn my arms face and chest ,so working outdoors in the sun makes me a lot cooler .I'm not saying that this tool does everything but it works GREAT in many situations. LIke every tool it only works as well as the users ability. As my dad once said its hard for some old dogs to learn new tricks .Try one before you develop an opinion

You would be glad that you tried one before you bought. I have tried these units from as long ago as 1999. They will also run on Vodka. They are a Russian invention that didn't qualify for a UL listing in America as far as I could research. The last one I used was a Multi-Plas or how ever it's spelled. We had a hard time doing any of the processes and certainly not anything over 1/8" thick and we could barely do 1/2"long welds. It did cut tin ok but not anything thicker. I am certain that once you try one you wont buy it but do try it out. You may have better Luck than I did on my testing.
