Anyone not like their Gand L or have any complaints? I'm working on refining my dream.

I have the L4610. My complaints are not significant, the engine cowling is a pain, filters are not easy to change, the paint on the tractor is thin (paint on the loader is bulletproof...) My legs get warm in the summer from the engine wash (I will love it this winter) The seat is hard to use in reverse. All minor complaints. The tractor itself is a dream. The loader is great. Quiet clean power. No problems other than the simple dealer setup stuff that got overlooked. I have had it 3 months and just hit 100 hours. I can't tell you how much I love the Hydrostatic transmission! I looked at the other colors and it was a tough choice, I do not regret the decision and would do it again.

NO!

I have a L3410 HST and it has been a wonderful machine.

There were some teething problems;
1) leaking from the HST filter (dealer picked up, fixed and returned tractor)
2) Same filter leaking...(dealer picked up, found slightly bent filter nipple, replaced and returned tractor)
NOTE: Kubota now has a new rev on the filter that is supposed to be stronger
And that's it so far! Changing fluids is messy, but that's about it.

Hydro transmission has been flawless. Starting in -35F temp takes only a couple more rotations than in summer, but 4x the glow plug time. I have moved several hundred yards of dirt, re-contoured a lot of trails, trimmed down many hundred trees in the 1-2" range all with very little effort or strain.

Worst problem so far has been the R4's are prone to getting greasy in the Wisconsin Clay. I now have a set of chains and I am looking to try them out!

Clementine (L3010) is a dream! Plenty of power, easy to use, easy to work on, etc. Handles bitter cold well, and starts first time every time even in the minus thirties. At first I didn't like the engine cowlings; but with a little practice I found them easy to remove and reinstall. And the visibility and access to the engine compartment is outstanding! Didn't like the oil filter situated right over the front axel at first, but on second thought it's a great way to see if you have a leak after an oil change without leaving the seat. So about the only complaint I have is with the folding ROPS. The bolts were so difficult to turn I drilled them out and replaced them with hitch pins. Seems to me a convenience item like a folding ROPS ought to be convenient to use /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Overall one hellava tractor!

Great idea on the folding ROPS and lynch pins, I also have trouble with my ROPS bolts. Did you pick up rattles with your conversion to pins?

My L3010 has been great so far. With over a hundred hours on it I am still smiling and looking for ways to spend more time on it.

Have a L4610,
1. Got rid of R-4s Put on Xm27 Front and rear.
2. Got a 4 in 1 bucket.
3. Add a top and tilt.
4. stir well.
Tractor it self is great fluid changes on HST is no fun so I went to Amsoil to lessen them. Would like more places to mount things.
And lets not forget the HST.

How constant does the governor hold the engine RPMs during typical work? I posted a while back about a friends 3710 that I used where the engine RPMs were varying significantly more than they do on my 2910. I'm trying to figure out if this is characteristic of the Grand Ls or if my friends tractor just has a problem. My 2910 holds to within about 100 RPM of the set speed unless completely overwhelmed by the load, which is not real easy to do. The 3710 was swinging 500 + RPM as though there was no governor at all.

What is an xm27 tire?

When you switched from R4's to XM27's what was involved and what is so special about them?

I don't think the governor does much more than prevent the engine from running overspeed. A heavy flywheel will smooth out momentary power drains by their momentum, but I am not sure if Kubota has invented something that will apply more throttle automatically. THAT could be a real widowmaker.
