Seems an odd choice of connectors for a simple 12V power source.Original 2 pin Power connector for VHF/UHF Power cords - Power source side is either the connector or it's mate. Often used in HAM radio stuff. It's an auxiliary plug for general 12v key on power. On open station machines it's under the fender rather than over. They are on the Economy & Grand L machines for sure, likely others.
The question shows up frequently.
I suppose it depends on the equipment and how frequently it's used.Lighter sockets are not good at retaining the plug many times. When I use my sprayer on the mower I have to jam a shim of cereal box cardboard in besides the cigarette plug to keep it from popping itself back out.
