Bought a used Sitrex SM150 last January and have used it several times this Spring. I'm happy with this mower, money well spent, even though it came equipped with three dull blades and two worn out V belts lol.
I can order new belts from Ga Equipment for about $28, but would rather get them local if I can figure out what I need. Anybody know how many inches long they are? Or, does anyone have a TSC or a NAPA part number they will cross over to? I can pull one off, but would rather not take it out of service until I have the new parts in hand. Besides, they are pretty well stretched out with the tension adjustment nearly maxed out.
What about blades? They are 20" high lift blades with a round hole for the spindle (not the star pattern). Will TSC have a cross for this blade? I'm guessing that's a pretty common blade? I can also order a set from Ga Equip for about $60, as well, but would rather get a set local if I can.
And another thing... I am pretty sure the nut on the bottom of the spindle is 1 1/8", but what size is the nut on top of the spindle to lock it down, so you can loosen the bottom nut? Is it the same size? All I had was a large adjustable wrench and it was too fat to fit in between the top of the blade and the collar on the bottom of the spindle. Will have to get the proper size wrench to change them out.
And one more thing, are there any tricks to replacing the belts?? I have located the manual for this mower online, and will study up on it before I attempt to change them out. (If anyone needs the link, let me know will be glad to share it). Thanks!!
