It's a jack of some sort for sure. For what, it will be interesting to find out.

it's a jack that uses the 3pth to lift the tractor for tire change.

The owners manual for my old 8N had instructions for using that type of lift.
Definitely need to place jack stands under the tractor, would never want to depend on the 3 point to hold the tractor up with the engine off!

That's cool! Some quick searching shows there's a front piece that goes under the front axle and you can lift all 4 wheels off the ground with the 3pt. Neat.

yes a jackstand....but for a little aside is not a stand for a 8n.... Its a stand for an original Ferguson. (Massey)

The Ferguson was a 20hp tractor made in England after the end of WWII. I think they made some in the US as well. Made for the guy who still ran horse teams but wanted to get into something more "modern". These 20hp tractors could do a ton of work!!

They only made it for a couple of years after the war. TO-20 stood for a 20hp tractor that was meant for export "overseas" (tractor overseas). Its claim to fame was one of the first tractors with hydro 3pt hitch.
Ferguson merged with the Canadian company called Massey-Harris to become Massey-Harris-Ferguson somewhere late 40's or early 50's and the company folded shortly after the merger.
