I like almost everything about my JD4300 except that the exhaust is situated such that it blows back into my face. I have found a vertical exhaust pipe offered online, but this would not solve the problem.

Ideally, I would like to find a way to direct the exhaust down and back, away from the driver.

Any suggestions?

:welcome:

I've had the 4300 for going on 12 years, and don't recall ever being bothered by the exhaust. Don't like the diesel smell it leaves when dropping off pallets of wood in the garage, as it seems to linger awhile afterwards.

Guess I'm not very sensitive.

I have a 4600 and I have the same issue. I find that I am breathing the exhaust every time I get on the tractor, and that can't be healthy. My exhaust pipe exits to the left front near the left front wheel and forward of the axle. I would like to route it to the rear but I am concerned about transferring exhaust heat to components that could be harmed. There is already a long black pipe of similar diameter that I could clamp to, but I wonder if the heat would be an issue. I'm thinking that a muffler shop could just bend me a pipe . . .

Ideas?
