Heard a guy talking about a batt-ry the other day. At first I thought he was talking about a tree for bats.

Knew a lawnmower mechanic that pronounced it that way. The other thing I hear a lot is people dropping the double T in words. Ki==en, Ro==en, Bri==le

When I’m reading, I’ve gotten to the point where I can mentally substitute “you’re” for “your” as needed, almost unconsciously.

I still get thrown when “there” is used in place of “they’re”. I usually have to re-read the sentence to understand it.
