We all do it, I have had the grammar police more than once call me out, then see the same officer use grammar worse than I did..

If you find comfter in saying comfterble, you likely often say: I've got, she's got, he's got, they've got. It makes me cringe.

Now that's funny!
They did a fabulous job on the robotic arms for the NASA programs..but the 'Red Green Show' has to be one of the best things the Canadians ever produced...IMO...!

I'm sure you didn't mean to exclude the use of quotation marks when citing a title like "Gone With the Wind" and to emphasize a particular word in a particular context, like "Professor" Irwin Corey.
Yeah that is correct.

I mean the ones that write: "Please use other door"

Or

"Thanks"

I enjoy the language and the way it can be manipulated to cover all situations, I was working in an all male environment when a female was employed, the shift manager was not impressed and reported to management that 'I was a man short on xxx shift', or insulting someone by suggesting that they 'knoweth not thy father'.
Once I had a rather unpleasant conversation with a quite irrational women who insisted that I address her as Madam, I asked if it was profession or title.
There is a recent film called 'The Hippopotamus' that exploits the language to its utmost, not for everyone but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Of course we get picked on for our spelling such as colour, valour, cheque, programme, centre, plough which can be confusing for non English speakers with similar spellings such as plough, cough, rough, through and surnames like Cholomondley (Chumley) and Mainwaring (Mannering).
Time to retire to the phrontistery.

It seems a lot here like allot a lot.

Oh, and it's voilà, not walla, wah-lah or whatever :banghead:

But what if you live in Walla Walla*? ... I mean Voilà Voilà is just plain silly.

Or Wagga Wagga*!

* Both are in NSW.

Oh, and there's a song called "Don't call Wagga Wagga, Wagga!"
