- Kubota MX5800 HST & L6060 HSTC Formerly L6060 HST B7100 HST, L2550, L3010 HST, L3430 HST
The first thing I do when getting on any of the Kubota's I've owned is reach across and grab the right side fender grab rail to steady myself. I'm also used to holding this rail when mowing on a slope. I was quite disappointed to find Kubota decided to omit this rail on the L6060 due to the fender mounted console which houses most of the hydraulic controls. To most, this probably seems like a minor inconvenience but to me it's a problem.
The fix was easier than I expected. Since Kubota does not list a part # for a right side grip rail on an L6060, I ordered the right side rail for an MX5800. it is a perfect match for the left side rail on the L6060. Messicks part #'s (Assy Grip, KU T1060-29470) and (Nut Flange KU 02771-70100) Total price was $48.08 excluding tax & shipping.
I removed the orange tape covering the rear mounting hole in the right fender and drilled a new 7/16" hole 2" outboard of the front hole which is partially covered by the console. Although the new grip rail does not fit into the stamped recess in the fender, it still looks good and functions perfectly. The install took all of 15 minutes.
Ok! Now I'm happy. The L6060 is an awsome machine!
