I've just bought a restored 845 from 1980 and attaching a mower like shown in the photo.
The standard (two way action) hydraulic ram connections, are not enough to attach a side-ways moving mower that can also pivot vertically. I need to add a second pair of connections and a lever but have no clue what is the best way to approach this. Which dealer in EU can deliver such spares?

Also; to get a general operator's manual (pdf) of this tractor for just maintenance and services I need to pay 40€ which I find, after 45 years, a bit over the top. Is there any other way to obtain this general info, I mean I'm not asking for a specialist thing like a workshopmanual.

Thanks for any input, regards from France, Ernie

Thanks LouNY, electric controls do not give that feedback that mechanical valves/handels give, but your link did make me find this which might as well replace the existing (leaky) control handle and add an extra handle at same time ! GREAT

Interesting, if it had float in at least one of the valves it would be nicer. I don't know why it is so hard to find after market valves with the float spools.

that is the core of my problem with hydraulics, total newbee. Don't even know what a float is

Nevermind I asked chatgpt and understand now that 'float' is a valve that lets the ram free when not operated (following the terrain for example for height control of mower) and 'blocked' is holding the ram in place when not operated (like with arm of a digger)
Thanks, this is how I learn :)

A 3 position valve has a center off/ blocked, one way pressures one port and relieves the other port, the other way pressures the opposite port and relieves the other.
So the handle has 3 positions forward center and back, most valves will be spring centered. Meaning that when the operating handle is released it will return to center.
You can get valves with detents these will hold the valve in a "power" position until manually returned to center.

Many 4 position valves will have a "float" position, this is a neutral position which allows fluid to flow in and out of both the valves operating ports. This allows a cylinder to extend and retract on it's own as the implement pulls or pushes to maintain a desired height usually set by wheels or rollers.

It also relieves all pressure in a system to allow easier connection and disconnect of the quick couplers for a cylinder.

A float valve will often be configured as Float, Lower, hold, Raise.

Oh I see, float is more that 4th position that regular 3position handels/controls do not have. Thanks for explaining!
