AC 5020 Free to good home.

Hello, and I hope this is the correct forum.

Is anyone interested in a FREE 1981 AC 5020 (1/2) tractor? Well, less engine and front axle? Less than 600 hours. My salvage recycler guy has been eyeballing this thing for six months, and before I let it go, just thought I'd try one last time to find it a friendly home.

The short story is: An elderly friend of mine ask me to repair it as his friend used it, left it outside for 2 years and the rings stuck. He pull started it and it smoked badly.... I started this tractor (pull start only) and ran it with a box blade to see if I could unstick the rings with no luck but the PTO, transmission and rear end worked excellent. Pulled the engine, tore it down and sent the block, pistons and head (with valves) to the machine shop, where he was to pick it up and foot the bill. His priorities changed...gave me whets left of his tractor to off-set the labor.

To most anyone else this is a big chunk of scrap...but to the individual that has one and needs parts..or back up drive train components let me know. In addition to the remaining half of the tractor I still have the cam, crank, flywheel, starter, hyd. pump, water pump...etc....Please PM me with any questions or information, otherwise I will have to let it go to the salvage yard.

It's just amazing. I've already had other messages, with names and numbers around 9 this am. but I said I've been contacted at 8:08 and looks like the tractor is yours. Seems fair?? I did call the number you provided and left a message.

Mark, Great, thanks!!! Can I get this by pieces in a truck or will I need a trailer. I know a trailer would be best but mine needs the floor replaced in it, and it is 150 miles away. I can call when I get home tonight about 7 PM. Thanks again, MP

Ooooo...I don't think you'll be putting it in a truck, unless you mean a tilt flat bet truck with a winch. I mean this rig weighed in at slightly over 2,200#'s complete. Now the engine half is gone but it is fully half or better from the fuel tank to the rear wheels and tires. I'd bet it's still an easy 1500#'s. It is complete from the bell housing to PTO...I mean everything is still there and it will roll around with a little assistance with my other tractors but I don't have a FEL that would lift it

As you are sincere about wanting (and coming and getting) the tractor, then do not rush yourself. I will keep it for you long enough for you to make some easy and safe arrangements. It's not going anywhere now that it has a new owner.
