Adding to the above - if I put an 8 footer on there it would give me less than 3" more on each side when angled. I don't think that is enough to make any difference at all.

Thanks for this info. I have a line on a 7’ for a good price, but have been debating about going with 8’. For only 3 “ more per side the 7’ seems like the way to go for the price.

Going from a 7' to an 8' would give you 6" more on each side. That would be a noticeable difference that. But the 8' would also be harder to steer and push your front end around more. Everything is a trade-off.
