I have been the proudowner of a 759C Backhoe on my 55da for almost a year now. My biggest grips is I have a problem getting it to load on my deck over trailer with 6' ramps Because the bucket or the rear of the backhoe assembly would dig into the ground. Just two step an angle when loading. Works okay at my farm where I have a loading dock (my wife calls it a horse jump, but perfect height for loading my trailers).

Any way, so I went out and picked up a 20' pintle hitch all steel equipment trailer. 6' ramps with a 2' dovetail..... And blast it I took a chunk out of my driveway again.... I got to looking at it, and I ma not sure really what I am going to do. The back hoe extends quite a distance past the rear tires and sits lower than the tractors frame. Really making it a challenge to load. I could adjust the pintle mount to make it easier to load and perhaps in the end make it never hit, however, then the trailer won't be riding on the truck correctly.

So anyone have this setup and have a clean loading experience with a 759C on a 48 or 55?

Thanks,

Matthew

Just throwa couple of 2x6's or similar on the ground under the ramp ends which will jack up the rear of the tractor and keep the backhoe off the ground. I had the same issue with a 2120 and 758 hoe for years. It's really easy to solve. A couple of small logs work also.

try to put the boom with the bucket up horizontal while loading (kinda upsidedown L), when you're done, just lower it. ;)

How about backing it on the trailer?

Just extend the dipper and tuck it back in when loaded. I used this method for many years with a 580 case. It doesn't transfer as much weight as one thinks and works slick. With the extend a hoe version you could just raise the boom but it became a routine with the dipper. Backing on didn't work out that great because the trailer had a place for the hoe bucket to tuck in for transport. Weight distribution was a problem for the one ton puller if the unit did not go far enough on the center of the trailer.

Yeah backing it on has occured to me. I tried it on the goose and that didnt work. I havent tried it on this trailer, yet. Lifting the bucket doesnt work as the bucket and boom don't drag. The problem is where the backhoe attaches to the frame, extends beyond the rear wheels and hangs lower. Creates a difficult pivot point to function with when loading.

No worries, I will get to this at some point. I have been in the office end not had any seat time since I posted this question.

Having a NH backhoe myself I figured that was where your problem actually was. In the years since I bought ours I've only been stuck because of the BH clearance issue once. I leaned real quick after that.

.

This is exactly the same problem I had with the 758. Backing on was just as basd as the hoe hit the rear of the trailer. (and you stop very quickly like hitting a brick wall) The solution I suggested earlier by adding blocks under the end of the ramps solved it easily by actually raising the backhoe so that the point where it attaches to the frame cleared the ground.
